Fast data is real-time data that typically comes in from streaming — such as through Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and event-driven applications — and is analyzed quickly to make rapid business decisions. In a recent study by Forrester, more than 75% of companies surveyed already use fast data solutions. Of those surveyed, 88% indicated they need to perform analytics in near real time on stored streamed data. See a summary of the study’s data in the Forrester infographic, The Future Of Data, Make It Fast (PDF, 453 KB).
