Being a complete AD package, it can be used to fully install or upgrade an IBM AD instance to the latest version 5.1.0.2 without installing the base version 5.1.0.0 first. Follow the instructions from IBM AD User Guide on how to install or upgrade an existing IBM AD instance.

For a fresh installation of AD Connect for Mainframe or for an upgrade from a version older than 5.1.0.0, first install the base version 5.1.0.0 from the IBM AD Connect for Mainframe\5.1.0.0 folder by following the instructions in IBM AD User Guide. Then, apply the 5.1.0.2 fix pack located in the IBM AD Connect for Mainframe\5.1.0.2\SMPE Files folder by following the instructions available in the IBM AD Connect for Mainframe\5.1.0.2\Install instructions folder. If you already have AD Connect for Mainframe 5.1.0.0, just apply the 5.1.0.2 fix pack located in the IBM AD Connect for Mainframe\5.1.0.2\SMPE Files folder by following the instructions available in the IBM AD Connect for Mainframe\5.1.0.2\Install instructions folder.

Make sure to upgrade all the modified components to the new version to have a consistent and functional installation.
