APAR status

Error description

  • "Program ID already defined" message.

Problem summary

  • Cobol compilers remained stuck during some programs compilation.

Different causes could produce the same effect during different
stages of compilation:
1) an infinite loop in the code, during the parsing phase
2) an error collecting semantics which threw exceptions which
were not caught, during semantic analysis
3) fault in graceful termination code (after compilation
finished) tried to release connection points COM references
after referenced objects were deleted.
4) - in "6.1.1_iFix2_TestFix_TS013754227_2nd.zip" fixes also the
"Error [999] : Syntax error: 'C01" error messages.

Problem conclusion

  • All the above causes were fixed by code changes.
