IBM puts Watson into SoftBank Pepper Robot

In April this year IBM announced that IBM together with the company SoftBank Robotics’ (SBRH) will offer a version of Watson for Pepper robots, aimed at global enterprise customers. IBM and SBRH will tap into data and knowledge across the “Internet of Things” to enable Watson-powered Pepper to make sense of the hidden meaning in data that traditional computers cannot comprehend – including social media, video, images and text. IBM Watson is the first open cognitive computing technology platform and represents a new era in computing where systems understand the world in the way that humans do: through senses, learning, and experience. Senior vice president Mike Rhodin, IBM Watson, explains it like this: “In terms of hands-on interaction, when cognitive capabilities are embedded in robotics, you see people engage and benefit from this technology in new and exciting ways.”

Think about the possibilities with cognitive capabilities and ask you self, how can you use that to be more relevant and add value to your customers?

  • what if you had the possibilities to create services that can understand values behind unstructured data,
  • what if you can take all your support skill and create a cognitive helpdesk function that can help your clients resolve problems just by chatting through an innovative interface,
  • what if the cognitive capabilities can analyse how companies are communicating with their clients and suggest different approaches to have more successful sales conversations?
  • what values can IoT and Cloud bring together for you as a MSP and how can you make the most of it? Think about the your clients and what industries
  • what if you can …

The possibilities are endless and its super important to outthink in this disruptive era. Would you like to know more or you have an innovative idea please sent a mail to either Christer Lundmark at CLundmar@ei.ibm.com or me at Johan Hoffert@se.ibm.com.
