Utilizing unsegmented inventory for segments
Sterling Intelligent Promising supports unsegmented inventory and by default all inventory is considered unsegmented.
A segment is limited to selling the inventory that it has available unless a segment consumption rule is created that expands the inventory pool to consider unsegmented inventory. This is very useful for items that have a high sell rate, that sell out quickly. By creating segment consumption rules to expand the inventory available to include unsegmented inventory, you remove the risk of a stockout and inventory not available to fulfill orders. For more information, see Inventory segment.
To activate the segment consumption rule, see Enabling unsegmented consumption rules.
Different scenarios are available that depict unsegmented inventory. For more information, see Scenario: Utilizing unsegmented inventory for segments.
