Creating a new reservation

As a fulfillment manager, Sterling Intelligent Promising allows you to create a new reservation from Order Hub. Creating new reservation enables the item quantities to be set aside for short-time that enables backend system to complete the processing of demands.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Order Hub.
  2. Click Inventory icon that looks like 3 boxes stacked on top of each other beside a single box and select Reservations.
  3. Click Create reservation from the top right corner of the screen.
  4. Optional Enter the details in the following fields:
    Field Description
    Reference This is a auto-generated field.
    Time to expire (in minutes) Enter the expiration time in minutes by clicking the Scroll up or Scroll down button.
    Availability type
    • Select Sell if the inventory available is ready for sell.
    • Select Schedule if the inventory available is scheduled.
    • Select Release if the inventory available is ready for release.
    Segmentation
    • The Unsegmented inventory option is selected by default. Unsegmented inventory is used to search for inventory that is available to all and not for a particular segment.
    • Select Segmented inventory to search for an item or SKU by segments. Segments represent items that are allocated for a particular customer. You can select the segment type from the Segment type list and the segment from the Segment list.
    OptionalConsider safety stock OptionalDisable this if required.
    Note: By default, this is enabled.
    Add item Click the button to add the item details.
    • Enter the and by
    • Click in to select the items.
    Reservation id Enter the reservation id.
    Line id Enter the line id.
    Quantity Enter the quantity clicking the Scroll up or Scroll down icon.
    Item Id Click Select item to select the item.
    OptionalProduct class OptionalEnter the product class of the item or SKU.
    Quantity Enter the quantity of the item.
    Inventory tags Select the inventory tags from the lookup.
    Delivery method Select the delivery method.
    Segmentation
    • The Unsegmented inventory option is selected by default. Unsegmented inventory is used to search for inventory that is available to all and not for a particular segment.
    • Select Segmented inventory to search for an item or SKU by segments. Segments represent items that are allocated for a particular customer. You can select the segment type from the Segment type list and the segment from the Segment list.
    Accept partial segmentation Disable this option, if required.
    Note: This option is enabled by default.
    Location Select the location details.
    Reservation Enter the details in Reservation start, Reservation end, and OptionalReservation expiry override.
    Select nodes
    • Under the Search and select tab, select Node or Distribution group.
    • Click Save to confirm the selection.
  5. Click Save to save the reservation details.
    Note:
    • You can add multiple items to one reservation.
    • You can edit or delete the items from the reservation. Click the Options icon and select Edit or Delete.
  6. Click Create to save the reservation.

Results

The reservation is created for the specific items and nodes.
  • If the indicator in Status is green, the reservation is created successfully.
  • If the indicator in Status is grey, the reservation is not created successfully.
Note: You can also create a reservation from the SKU details page.
Creating a details from SKU details page
  1. Log in to Order Hub.
  2. Click Search.
  3. Search for the item.
  4. You can view the SKU details and availability for the item. If there is availability, you can create the reservation with items less than the availability.
  5. Click the Options icon and select Adjust inventory or Create reservation.
