Configuring carrier calendars and constraints

Carrier calendar constraints are important to calculate accurate delivery and shipping dates to meet customer promises. You can configure carrier calendar constraints for non-transit and non-delivery dates. All non-operational days are excluded from transit and delivery calculations.

Before you begin

A carrier might define both non-transit days and non-delivery day constraints. For more information, see Calendar constraints.

Procedure

  1. From the side navigation menu, click Configuration > Carriers.
  2. Then, select the Calendar constraints tab.

Creating a carrier calendar

  1. To create a carrier calendar, click Create.
  2. In the Create carrier modal, type the Calendar ID and the Calendar description.
  3. To apply constraints to the calendar, select the days of the week or specific dates and click Save.

Editing or deleting a carrier calendar

  1. In the Carrier calendar constraints table, click the ellipsis for a specific carrier calendar and click either Edit carrier calendar or Delete carrier calendar.
  2. To edit a carrier calendar, select the days of the week or dates to edit and click Save.
  3. To delete a carrier calendar, in the Delete carrier calendar modal, review the carrier calendar to remove and click Confirm.

Assigning a carrier calendar

  1. Select the Carriers tab. For the carrier, expand the carrier row and select the carrier. Then, click the ellipsis and click Assign carrier calendar.

Assigning calendar constraints

  1. To assign non-transit constraints, click Add non-transit constraints and to assign non-delivery constraints, click Add non-delivery constraints.
  2. In the Add non-transit modal or the Add non-delivery modal, select a calendar to assign or to assign a new calendar, click Add calendar. Then, select the days of the week or the dates to apply and click Assign.
    Note: The calendar is assigned and the updates are applied to all linked carrier services. You can't reassign a constraint that is applied to a calendar already.
    In the View assigned carrier calendar constraints modal, to view the applied constraints in a calendar view, click the Calendar icon.

Unassigning a calendar

  1. To unassign a calendar, in the View assigned carrier calendar constraints modal, from the Actions menu, click the delete icon and confirm the deletion.
