Integrating the Optimization service with Sterling Order Management System by using the adapter
As a system integrator, you can integrate the Optimization service with Sterling Order Management System for new customers by using an inbuilt adapter. This integration optimizes the inventory that is available to meet customer orders. Also, it provides cost-based optimization as part of the fulfillment process.
About this task
- New customers can use the inbuilt adapter to integrate the Optimization service with Sterling Order Management System. For more information, see Enabling the integration with the IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising Optimization Service and the Integration flow.
- Existing customers who are currently using APIs to complete the integration can now start the migration process to use the inbuilt adapter instead. For more information, see Migrating to the inbuilt integration.
- Alternatively, new or existing customers can use APIs instead to complete the integration. For more information, see Integrating the Optimization service with Sterling Order Management System by using APIs.
Procedure
- For new customers, to integrate by using the automated process that uses an inbuilt adapter, see Enabling the IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising Optimization integration.
- Enable the Determine default shipping group rule by contacting IBM
Support. For more information, see Contacting
IBM® Support.
When the
carrierServiceCodevalue is not provided in the Rank API and the Optimizer API request, you must enable this rule so that both APIs determine the shipping group internally. - For existing customers, to start the migration process to use the inbuilt adapter, see Migrating to the inbuilt integration.
