Sterling Intelligent Promising Standard
Sterling Intelligent Promising Standard extends the capabilities of the Essentials tier by combining modular Promising, Inventory, and Optimization services into a unified decisioning platform for fulfillment and inventory orchestration.
The Standard tier is designed for organizations that require not only fast and accurate fulfillment promises, but also real-time inventory visibility and cost-aware sourcing optimization across their fulfillment network.
You can avail the Sterling Intelligent Promising on-premises containers offering through the Sterling Intelligent Promising Standard package only. Additionally, the premium capabilities in containers are provided as an add-on through the IBM® Sterling Intelligent Promising Standard package. For more information about IBM Containers, see IBM containers overview.
Modular services included
- Promising
- The Promising service provides estimated delivery dates with
sub-second response times while improving delivery accuracy through business-defined sourcing
decisions and fulfillment constraints.
Key capabilities include:
- Real-time promise generation
- Business rule driven sourcing determination
- Fulfillment constraint enforcement
- Improved delivery commitment accuracy
- Inventory
- The Inventory service provides real-time inventory visibility and
inventory control capabilities to maximize inventory utilization and improve availability across all
selling channels.
Key capabilities include:
- Global inventory visibility across fulfillment networks
- Inventory transparency across distributed systems and channels
- Improved inventory utilization and allocation
- Support for reducing stockouts, overpromising, and excess safety stock
- Deterministic optimization
- The Deterministic optimization feature of the Optimization modular service improves fulfillment
outcomes by incorporating cost-aware sourcing decisions into each fulfillment transaction.
This optimization model uses rules-based logic and static business variables to determine the lowest cost-to-serve while maintaining operational objectives.
Optimization objectives include:
- Minimize shipping costs
- Balance fulfillment node capacity
- Minimize processing costs
- Optimize delivery speed
For more information about these features, see Optimization objectives.
The optimization engine evaluates factors such as:
- Carrier services
- Transit rates
- Shipping costs
- Processing costs
- Node balancing costs
Business outcomes
By combining Promising, Inventory, and Optimization services, Sterling Intelligent Promising Standard enables organizations to:
