IBM Cisco data storageDo people within your organization communicate by attaching files to messages? Do they download videos and images? Do you have plans to use the cloud to store your corporate information assets, but haven’t done it yet? Have you had the experience of running out of storage space? Have you been unable to find where you stored a data asset when you needed it?

If any of these scenarios sound familiar, your business is probably like numerous others across the world experiencing pains from the exponential growth of unstructured data. They’re all finding out that traditional methods for storing and managing this information are becoming inadequate, thus failing to meet future corporate objectives.

IBM Cloud Object Storage, in conjunction with Cisco’s newly announced Cisco UCS S-Series Storage Server, is looking to alleviate some of those headaches. The joint solution that combines the S3260 and IBM Cloud Object Storage has already been implemented (in a proof of concept) with two key clients.

IBM and Cisco’s common channel works together to meet active archive needs for on-premises and cloud environments.

Here’s how they work in tandem: our partners deploy IBM Cloud Object Storage which is designed to help their clients more efficiently manage the ingest and retrieval of terabytes and petabytes of unstructured data. The Cisco S3260 provides the compute power and density to enable the customer to balance cost with powerful performance.

“More and more enterprises are investing in IBM Cloud Object Storage to manage their ever-increasing volumes of ,” said Bob Schwartz, Director of IBM COS Alliances with IBM Cloud Object Storage. “Through the joint solution of Cisco S3260 and IBM Cloud Object Storage,  clients will be able to manage and store their unstructured data today and efficiently scale to meet their needs in the future.”
