Can you track a URL that uses a query string
By default Acoustic Campaign tracks web page visits by the entire URL up to the query string, which typically begins with the "?" symbol. For example, www.silverpop.com/index.html?content=januaryupdate will be returned in your web tracking Summary report as index.html. By adding a single JavaScript variable to your page code, you can begin tracking visits to pages that contain dynamic URLs.
Can I add a subdomain to Web Tracking?

Web tracking report will show the unknown visitor for the seed list contact when they access the external site from the email. Also, the contact insight of seed list contacts only records their actions within the email (like clicking on the link inside a email), not with the external site.
Why are the domains that are actively used in Web Tracking cannot be provisioned as a Custom LP Domain

How can I track multiple sites so that visitors can go to both sites at the same time
Acoustic Campaign only appends the webSyncID variable to page URLs when the destination URL is different from the current page domain and is registered as a domain that needs to be tracked. The webSyncID must be passed along to the next site domain in order for that domain to add behaviors/events to the same contact. If a visitor clicks a link on SiteA that goes to SiteB which is not having the webSyncID will cause the visitor to look like an anonymous visitor on siteB.
How does the web tracking work for internal landing pages and forms
By default, Acoustic Campaign hosted landing pages and web forms are tracked, and do not require additional code or setup. Acoustic Campaign tracks visits, clicks, downloads, form submits and other activity.
If I update my web tracked custom domains do I need to update the web page
When adding a new qualified domain through the Settings > Org Settings > Web Tracking settings, the new domain is then automatically added to the Web Tracking code. This does not necessarily mean that the web tracking code in your HTML is updated. The meta tag in your HTML needs to be manually updated so the changes take effect.
Is it possible to use web tracking for the same domain in more than one Acoustic Campaign organization
For security reasons and for data integrity reasons, it is not possible to use web tracking for the same domain in more than one Acoustic Campaign organization
How can the Unique Opens data exceed the Sent data in the Program Mailing Performance report?
The Programs - Mailing Performance report provides information about the performance of emails sent by a specified Program. You can select the Program that you would like to view. For Example, Active or Inactive and the default report provides data for the last seven days.
Why is the visited webpage metrics missing from single mailing report
Visited Webpage metrics are only displayed on the Single Mailing Report if at least one link in the email directs to a web page as a clickstream type link and the webpage allows web tracking. If either of those factors are not true, the metrics do not display on the Single Mailing Report.
How can I track forwarded copies of my email?
Forwarded messages can be tracked if you include a Forward to a Friend link in your email and if the recipient uses the Forward to a Friend link. If the recipient uses the forward feature in an email client, you cannot track that forwarded message.
Are emails sent by using a query included in a subscriber report
Subscriber reports provide the number of contacts that have subscribed or unsubscribed from a list.
How does gmail open tracking affect the gross opens rate
Google handles email tracking images that are sent to gmail addresses differently than other email providers. This difference affects how gross opens are tracked.
Does the maximum soft bounce retry setting affect the sent metric?
A soft bounce occurs when the email server rejects an email due to a temporary condition, such as a full inbox. When a soft bounce occurs, the system tries to send the email again until it is either accepted or times out. The timeout is set in Acoustic Campaign. If an email address is soft bouncing but still has more tries left, it will not be included in the sent metric.
How do unsubscribes appear in reporting?
Contacts who unsubscribe from an email have an event type of Opt-Out.
What is the date range filter in the export tracking data
You can use the date range filter when you export Tracking Data. When you export the tracking data for a Single Mailing Report, there is a Start date and End date option. There might be confusion on the function of this date range. It is compared to the date range available in the RawRecipientDataExport and often reports come back that don't contain the same data.
Are dynamic content link clicks included in the mailing summary report
The dynamic content clickthrough report contains display rate, gross clicks and unique clicks for each Dynamic Content (DC) ruleset and content area.

How are attachment opens and downloads reported
Multiple attachments of any file type can be associated to an email. Attachments can either be embedded within the email or provided as a link to download.
Do email preview pane views record as opens
Outlook and other email providers use a 'Preview Pane' where users can click the message to preview the email without fully opening the email into its own window. review pane views are recorded as an open if the images within the email are downloaded.
Why does the exported single mailing report metrics show incorrect time?
When you export the tracking metrics for a Single Mailing Report, the sent time of an email may not match what is shown in Acoustic Campaign. That is because the data that is exported from Acoustic Campaign is displayed in GMT. The time stamps that are shown in Acoustic Campaign are based on the user profile time zone, which can be found under Settings > User Profile > Localization.
How are copy and paste click to view links reported
A Click to View link contains enough information for Acoustic Campaign to identify which recipient is trying to view which email. It is unique to the contact sent for the particular mailing that they received.
Why are the gross click-throughs higher than the number of recipients?
If a message is forwarded manually, rather than using Forward to a Friend, then the gross click-through rate displays higher than the number of recipients.
How are the gross clicks calculated?

What is aggregate reporting for A/B testing
Aggregate reporting for A/B testings helps you understand the totals of opens, clicks, or conversions across all the A/B variants in one view. Each test send, test variant, and winning email generates its own Single Mailing Report.
What is a clickthrough rate
A clickthrough rate is a measure of how often an email recipient clicks a link in your email, usually expressed as a percentage of the sent emails or opened. It is useful in measuring response when there is a direct call-to-action in the email that the recipient can accomplish by way of the web. For example, when you buy a product online, take a survey online, read an article online, and so on.
Do I need to update Web Tracking settings to implement conversion events
Yes, you need to Web Tracking Settings to implement conversion events. You will need to uncomment and add the Conversion Tracking (COT) meta tag to your tracked pages and Configure a Conversion Event. The COT meta tag is located in Settings > Organization Settings > Web Tracking Code.
How do I implement conversion tracking using web tracking
The Web Tracking feature allows the tracking of conversions in a far easier manner that the previous Conversion Tracking feature. In order to track conversions, there are a number of requirements but far less coding is required on the final website pages now. In your email, you still do have to ensure that your links are set to the type clickstream rather than just the usual tracked hyperlink.
Why am I not able to see the OK button gone after changes are made to a link in a single mailing report
Sometimes, you may not be able to view the OK button after you change a link in a Single Mailing Report that you must click to save your changes. You can resize the window by dragging the lower right corner and the OK button appears.

Why does the single mailing report export display zero opens and clicks
If the Single mailing report is showing opens/clicks, but a query or exporting tracking data file both provide zero results, you might want to check whether any database was reformatted. For example, if contacts on the database were purged, then tracking metrics for those contacts would not be exportable, since those contacts are deleted.

Is it possible to configure more than one site analytics package per organization
Unfortunately at present time it is only possible to configure one analytics package per Organization. However, you can manually edit the link append string to add additional parameters that other analytics packages may need. For example, you can add UTM for Google and sp_rid for Omniture.

You must have the correct permissions to view the Data Growth Report.
Why is my click map not displaying the performance data
If your click map does not display performance data, the CSS might be conflicting with the HTML in an email.
What does the error Unable to delete: Group is used in a report or template mean

What is the difference between Program Mailing Performance report and Program Mailing Contacts Sent

Why don't I see the column and field data in the export

Why do I see discrepancies in the report data
In some scenarios, you want reporting data for a specific date and the report comes back with seemingly wrong data after compared to the same report ran on a previous date for the same time period. This discrepancy applies to the reports in Acoustic Campaign with data on open, clicks, soft bounces, and other data.
Why does data growth report show steep decrease or increase in the database contact
The Data Growth Report is showing a sharp increase or decrease in contacts. Various processes can affect database contact count. For example, data purge jobs or mass opt-outs through the list import or update.
Why does searching by tags does not yield results?

Share-to-Social causes many clicks for one contact record
The clickthrough report displays an increase in reporting activity because all of the emails contain a related Recipient ID, and each click is displayed for that single contact.
Why is the header and footer missing in my scheduled report
Reports can be customized to include a header and footer. In some cases, the header and footer sections do not display up in the scheduled report, and it is not a bug.

While you review reporting metrics, you see several forwards listed. However, in the sent mailing, you see no forward link.
Why does my scoring report fail to load
When you access the scoring report, you may receive the following error message An unexpected error occurred while processing your request. If you continue to experience this error contact support. Your organization administrator needs check to make sure that a database is associated with your report by updating the Scoring Database.
Does the single mailing report provide you with the current email address of a database contact
The Single Mailing Report provides you with the contact record at the time an email was sent. After you export the tracking data for Single Mailing Reports, you can see that the report provides the contact record at the time the email was sent.
Why are the forwards not being recorded in the Single Mailing Report
When emails are forwarded, some forwards may not be shown in the Single Mailing Report, if the recipient uses the forwarding mechanism that is found in the email client.
Why is there a discrepancy in unique click count
Depending on which report path you look at the data in, you might find a discrepancy in the Unique Click count.
Why is the unique click % incorrect in mailing report summary
While one would expect Unique Click % to be calculated based on Unique Clicks divided by delivered, it is instead calculating based on the ratio of Unique Clicks to Unique Opens. For example, if you have three Unique Clicks with two Unique Opens for that time period. The result is a Unique Click % of 150%. This calculation also affects the Recent Mailings widget. You see that the Effective Rate is the same as the Unique Click %. The reason is because Unique Click % and Effective Rate are calculated the same way, that is Unique Clicks are divided by Unique Opens.
Why am I not able to download reporting PDFs
If you cannot download PDFs from the reporting interface, check if your browser software to block pop-up ad windows is disabled. Software that blocks pop-up ad windows can prevent the download dialog from appearing. Additionally add engage*.silverpop.com to your browser's trusted sites. The * represents the Acoustic Campaign platform number that you use.
What are the different click types in reports?
You can review the information about unique clicks, gross clicks, and clickthroughs in reports. When you view the Summary selection in the summary, the Unique Clicks metric refers to the number of mail recipients who click any link within the email. All other links that are clicked within the email are ignored for this report view.
Why is there a discrepancy between the single mailing report and export tracking data?
The single mailing report shows opens and clicks, but after the tracking data is exported, no data is displayed except for header information. If a single mailing report is showing metrics for opens and clicks within Acoustic Campaign, but exporting tracking data shows no results, be sure to check and see whether anyone that was sent the email is opted-in after the email was sent.
Why is gross total clicked number and total clickthrough number different
There are differences between the Gross Total Clicks and Total Clickthrough Number. In the summary section of a Single Mailing Report, the Gross Total Clicked number can sometimes be higher than the Total Clickthroughs in the Clickthroughs section of the report. This difference happens because the Gross Total Clicked number includes clicks from the seedlist. You can see this result by going to the Gross Total Clicked report and looking for contacts in the seedlist. The total number of clicks from the seedlist contacts add up to the difference between the two numbers.
Why are sent times in View all mailings to this contact have activity different from single mailing report
When you click a contact's email address and then click Edit contact, you have the View all mailings to this contact that have activity option. You might notice that the sent times that are listed in that report do not match the times in the Single Mailing Report. The times that are listed here are in GMT. You want to account for this time zone when you compare this report to the Single Mailing Report.
How does the single mailing report summary report display time-based data?
Under the Single Mailing Report summary, the data is sometimes displayed by hour, date, or week. The graph and rows of data that is generated for the Single Mailing Reports - Summary works on a set of logic that requires no more than 24 data points to exist (on either the graph's x-axis or how many rows of records are in the tabular data). Meaning, if an email has activity over the course of less than 24 hours, the graph and data can show a true hourly breakdown.
Why do the total number of clicks not match the clickthrough unique total in the summary report?
You can review why the number of clicks does not match the clickthrough unique total in the summary report. Sometimes the total number of clicks and the clickthrough unique total of clicks do not match in the Summary Report due to the number of links in an email. These totals do not match because the Unique total number in the Summary Report is the number of people who clicked any URL for the email. This first initial click is what is counted and displayed in the Summary. The Clickthrough report is accessed by changing Summary to Clickthrough in the drop-down. This report gives you the Unique total per each URL in the email. So, those unique totals in the Clickthrough report and the unique total number in the Summary report are almost always different.
Why does top domains report sometimes reports more than 100%?
In the Top Domains Report tab, the domain open percentage might report more than 100%. This number represents the gross amount of opens per domain. One contact with this domain was sent the email. This one contact opened the email 3 times. Therefore, the open percentage is 300%.
How is the single mailing report metrics calculated
Acoustic Campaign first calculates the total number of persons in your contact source that are available to send to (not displayed). Next, it calculates which addresses in your database need to be suppressed for the send and removes them from the total. It then adds inbox monitoring addresses (if enabled) and seed contacts (if any). Acoustic Campaign then displays the total number of valid contacts from your contact source (contact source available minus suppressed). Sent Messages is then the sum final result of the calculation.
What is a clickthrough report?
Clickthrough Reports give insight into how certain links perform. The Clickthrough Report provides a visual overview of the click information for each tracked hyperlink. Links are highlighted and color-coded to indicate above and below average performance and the most clicked link. The most frequently clicked link is highlighted in orange. The above-average clicked links appear green, and below average-clicked links are yellow.
What are web tracking cookies

What is the difference between "viewed web page" and "visited web site"
The Visited web site selection finds anyone who has visited an internally hosted web site (Example: www.pages05.net/demo) or a Web Tracking enabled external site (Example: demo-assets1.com). The external pages shown under Web Site are listed in Settings > Organization Settings >Web Tracking Settings > Qualified Domains.
What is the maximum period of web tracking history that can be used in a Query
For performance reasons, Acoustic Campaign limits web tracking history to a period of 730 days.
What is the size of the Web Tracking cookie
The cookie used by Web Tracking can be as large as 1024 bytes. After that, older data will be truncated from it. However, unless a single URL is longer than 1024 bytes, all page visits will be tracked.
Where are anonymous visitors in my WebTrackingDataExport
Anonymous visitors are not included in the WebTrackingDataExport report. This is because these visitors have not agreed to have their information tracked. So while they are reported as a total, details on individuals is not available. It may be possible to compare your own server logs against the report to learn more about them.
Why do I see spMailingID,spUserID, spJobID, and the spReportId in some of my URLs
There are three different situations that can cause the spMailingID,spUserID, spJobID, and the spReportId to be appended to the end of urls.
Why is tracking open data not being updated for some recipients
For an HTML Body based email, Acoustic Campaign places an invisible 1 pixel by 1 pixel image that is linked to our tracking server. Therefore if the html email is opened, a call to retrieve the invisible image is placed to our tracking server is placed and downloaded. This action therefore allows us to track that the open has occurred. If the email client blocks all images from being downloaded then we cannot track the open until the images are allowed to download to the template OR if the recipient clicks on a link within the email (we can track this as an open and also register the click-through).If your recipient receives only the text body version of the message their activity will not be tracked unless they click on a link within that email. If they do click on a link within the email they will then be tracked as an open and a click-through on that particular link. If they only open the email and do not click on anything, there will be no tracking for this.
What are the conversion tracking terms?
Conversion terms are Clickstream, Clickthrough and Conversion and Landing Page.
What does the effective rate mean in mailing reports?
When you view performance reports for sent emails, you might see a column that shows Effective Rate. The Effective Rate is the ratio of unique clicks to unique opens. This ratio provides you with an effective means of determining how much focus the contact gave an opened email.
What do the first and last columns represent in export tracking data
Depending on the report, the first column relates the first time that contact either clicked or opened. The last column shows the last time that contact opened and clicked. When you export into Excel, you can change the column formatting so that you can see the date and time that these actions occurred.
What is statistical data in the scoring report
When you create a Scoring Model, some fields are also created in the database. One is used for Behavior Scoring <model name_Behavior> and the other is for Total Model Scoring <model name_Score>. When you view the statistics section of the Scoring Report (Reports > Reporting > Scoring Reports - Summary) for the Behavior section, the data is related directly to what is listed within the database under the Behavior Score field that was created by Acoustic Campaign for that purpose. The same is true for the total Score Model Statistics section.
What do time stamps reflect in the single mailing report?
The time stamp reflects the time that the email completed sending.
What is the multiple mailings report?
You can view aggregate data for several emails at the same time by using the multiple mailings report. When you create multiple mailings reports, you can either select all of the emails within a certain date range or you can select individual emails that you want to include. Additionally, you can use these totals for planning future marketing strategies.
What is a subscribed metric?
The subscribed metric is the number of contacts who opted-in as a result of the email. For example, a contact of your email forwards the email to an associate and the associate clicks a link to a standard web form. The associate then opts-in through that web form. After the associated completes and submits the web form, that associate will show up in the subscribed count.
What time zones are used for clickthrough data?
When you access the Clickthrough data from the Single Mailing report, you see time stamps. All the reports are generated in the user's time zone. If all reports need to show the same time zone, users must make sure all time zones in their user profiles are set to the same time zone are set to the same time zone.
How is the change in size of a database viewed
You can view the Growth Report to see the change in the size of a database. The Growth Report provides information about contacts that subscribed, unsubscribed, are marked undeliverable, or were snoozed. Go to Reporting and select Data Reports > Growth from the left menu. The data for this report is compiled daily at midnight GMT.
How is the VMTA displayed?
You can display the VMTA that was used by a regular sent email in a Single Mailing Report. To find the information you need, go to Single Mailing Reports > Reports > Other Reports > Single Mailing Reports, then select the appropriate email name.
How are the metrics on the attachment downloads viewed
You can view contacts who downloaded attachments in the classic single mailing report. Reporting metrics on contacts who downloaded a file from your email is available in the classic Single Mailing Report. It is possible to export tracking events to view individual contacts who downloaded a file. However, if the file is embedded in the email, no reporting is available.
Why is the unique opens fewer than unique clickthroughs in the single mailing report?
Sometimes you see fewer unique opens than unique clickthrough rates in the Single Mailing Report. In Reporting, you might typically review unique clickthroughs on the Clicks By Link page in Reports > Reporting, or in Share of clickthroughs, Per Link in Reports > Other Reports > Single Mailing Report. Both of these sets of tabular data reveal the number of unique contacts who clicked each respective tracked link within a email. If you combine the total number of Unique Clicks per link, the number might be higher than the amount of Unique Opens on the email.
Why does the report summary page show clicks, but the clickthrough report shows zero clicks
A single mailing report and the summary page might show several opens and clicks. While in the Clickview Map or the Clickthrough Report, you might see zero clicks. This discrepancy occurs when recipients click a link that was removed from the list after the send.
Why does one contact have so many gross opens
The counts for a gross open encompass many factors. To set the premise for the gross open metric, first it is important to know that in HTML messages there is a tracking GIF pixel. When the email is opened, the recipient must download the images for this tracking gif to report back to the Acoustic Campaign servers that the email was opened. The gross open metric equals the number of times the tracking pixel renders and counts per render in various scenarios.
Why is web tracking not visible in reporting
If you do not see the web tracking option in Reporting, most likely is that the account you are using to access does not have landing page access.
Why is the tracking not working for a message?

Why do I see discrepancies in the number of unique opens in a single mailing report
Depending on the options that you use to retrieve the report, sometimes there are discrepancies in the number of unique opens in a Single Mailing Report. Selecting Other Reports > Single Mailing Report includes Forward Contacts and Original Contacts by default. Selecting Reporting > Single Mailing Report does not. You must change All Contacts to Original Contacts in Single Mailing Report to get the numbers to match.
Why is the top domains reporting information unavailable?

What to do if contacts fail to receive an email?
If you have sent an email campaign, but contacts report they haven't received it, the best practice is to confirm that the email was sent and received.
What is the difference between Marked undeliverables by user bounce job and Marked undeliverable
When you export a bounce report, there are two types of undeliverable messages. The Marked undeliverable by user bounce job indicates that you marked your bounces as undeliverable manually. Marked as Undeliverable indicates that the system marked the address as undeliverable. You receive this message when the address is a hard bounce, or your soft bounce threshold is reached.
What is the time zone shown in the single mailing report?
You can view the Single Mailing Report in your Time Zone. When you go into Reports > Other Reports > Single Mailing Report, under the Mailing Report, and click the Opened metric, the times that are shown for Last Action are in the time zone that is set for the user name that is viewing the email.
Why are the trend report opens grouped by send time?
Trend reports do not display opens over a time frame for a group of emails or even a single email. Trend reports groups all opens to the time the email was sent. Trend reports are an indicator of how many opens occurred for the email but does not specify the time of day opens happened. This data is retrievable from the single Mailing Report.
Why is there a difference with dynamic content sent between classic reporting and new reporting
When you compare the New Reporting - Dynamic Content Sent and the Classic Reporting - Dynamic Content Sent, you might find discrepancies in the data. Classic Reporting - Default Content reports might show higher figures because Classic Reporting includes seedlist sends and Forward to a Friend Sends. New Reporting does not include those metrics. Therefore, in Classic Reporting - Dynamic Content Sent you must change the drop-down menu for All Contacts to Original and click Update.
Should I include the Web Tracking opt-in banner in the emails?

Unique totals are the number of unique recipients that perform a trackable action. Gross totals are the total number of trackable actions that include multiple actions by the same recipient.

The Push Notifications Report displays metrics about mobile app message behaviors and Universal Behavior events. You can run the report for one or more applications and filter by event, campaign, and date range.
How is the open rate counted?
An open rate is counted when the open pixel, that is inserted invisibly at the top or bottom of the email, is downloaded. When the recipient opens only the sent email but does not click show images, the open rate for the contact is not counted since the open pixel was not triggered.

Why does my mailing report show just one unique open and click?

How do I change the storage time for web tracking data
If you would like to change the length of time that your Web Tracking data in your org is stored to 450 days, please contact client support. Additionally, if you would like to be able to use the 'at any time' criteria in a behavioral query and have it be equal to the Org constraints (450 days), Client Support can change this under Org Settings: Attributable web tracking data retention period of days: maximum setting 450 days.
Is the Web Tracking disclaimer something that only occurs to users in Canada and the EU
The Web Tracking Opt-In feature can be optionally placed on any site or web tracked page. Therefore, it will appear on only the pages you specifically designate, and can be customized by your web developer to selectively display to visitors based on their location or language preference.
Unable to see Web Sites Reports under Reporting
Any users that are set up as Org Admin Level Users, will need to be given full access to Landing pages in order to be able to view the Web Sites Reports. So the option for 'Landing Pages- full access' needs to be selected. If that option is left unselected, the user will not be able to see Web Sites Reports from the Reporting section.
