Switching your SoftLayer authentication to IBMid

Share this post:

We recently enabled new users to SoftLayer to start with an IBMid to manage your SoftLayer account, but also to access Bluemix-based services and resources by using a single sign-on.

Now, existing SoftLayer users can switch to IBMid. If you already have a SoftLayer account, you can switch to an IBMid using a migration wizard to guide you through the switch.

To get started, go to the Edit User Profile page in the Customer Portal and click Switch to IBMid.

What is an IBMid?

An IBMid is a single ID that you use to log into your Bluemix account for infrastructure, services, and application features. Your IBMid is the same ID that you can use to access other IBM applications.

Once you switch to an IBMid you can no longer log into the Customer Portal with your SoftLayer username. You must click the Login with IBMid button in the Account Login dialog.

For more information, see Switching to IBMid.
