We are announcing the upcoming deprecation of IBM Cloud Monitoring in lieu of our new IBM Cloud Monitoring with Sysdig offering.
This deprecation is targeted for the end of 2019, with an anticipated end of market date of June 30, 2019.
The evolution of cloud monitoring
Existing and new cloud monitoring customers are encouraged to begin leveraging this fully managed enterprise-grade monitoring solution on IBM Cloud. IBM Cloud Monitoring with Sysdig provides increased insight and faster incident resolution via a simplified data collection approach. The solution is optimized for modern container-based applications, collects and aggregates data across infrastructures, provides configurable alerts, and allows organizations to visualize their environment with customizable dashboards and at-a-glance views.
This is a co-branded offering that is operated by Sysdig in partnership with IBM, with all data stored on IBM Cloud.
Customers using IBM Cloud Monitoring for their operational metrics can install the Sysdig agents on their systems and IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service clusters or on hosts on their Linux environments, to run the two monitoring solutions in parallel as part of their migration to IBM Cloud Monitoring with Sysdig. This will start building a history of metrics, as metrics are not migrated between the services that have very different indexing schemes.
Customers using IBM Cloud Monitoring to view and alert on IBM Service metrics including Cloud Foundry, Event Streams, LBaaS, and IBM Databases should continue using the IBM Cloud Monitoring legacy service until support for service monitoring is released later this year.
Lite plan instances will no longer be available for provisioning after June 30th, while existing paid plans will remain until end of service, currently targeted for October 30, 2019.
