Use IBM DB2 Express-C on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).
IBM DB2 Express-C, the no-charge edition of the
relational and XML hybrid DB2 data server, is ideally suited
for use in Cloud environments and delivering Data-as-a-Service
(DAAS). DB2 Express-C offers core DB2 functionality, including
the revolutionary pureXML data management capabilities, and
provides a solid base to build and deploy applications using
C/C++, Java™ programming language, .NET, PHP, Ruby on Rails and other programming platforms. You can now take advantage of DB2 Express-C for powering your database and DAAS applications in the Amazon EC2 environment.
Independent Software Vendors
(ISVs) can develop and prototype database applications on Amazon EC2 using the 32-bit or
64-bit DB2 Express-C development Amazon
Machine Images (AMIs). These Linux based DB2 Express-C 9.7 AMIs are available at
the low cost of your Amazon Web Services (AWS) usage, have
no time limits, and do not come with official IBM
support.
There is no fee from IBM for the AMI.
To
deploy DB2 Express-C on Amazon EC2 for more than just
development purposes,
download
DB2 Express-C at no-charge and provision your own
AMIs. Sample scripts and documentation are available
to help automate the task of provisioning your own DB2
powered AMIs.
