Shape the city of the future
The Smarter Cities solutions zone is a new area within the Industry Solution Center dedicated to cities and allowing to discover and exchange on the smarter cities agenda and IBM’s vision, assess current and future city challenges and get insights about how technology can serve citizen’s needs. The objectives are to help governments and their eco-systems to transform their cities’ core systems for sustainable prosperity and to develop a more citizen-centric approach to services.
Several solutions are demonstrated through integrated prototypes based on real business scenarios and are showcased in simulated city environments. They address the different components of today’s cities like citizens, security, transport, etc. They infuse new or existing infrastructures with new intelligence so they can sense, analyze and integrate data, as well as respond intelligently to the needs of governments and eco-systems.
Successful examples from around the world are also demonstrated and explained. This provides visitors with an inspirational environment to engage in different thinking and promote the discovery of new opportunities and evolving technologies.
Taking advantage of this unique place and eco-system, visitors participate in workshops, see live demonstrations and exchange with world-class subject matter experts having a deep industry knowledge and a wealth of technical expertise. They experience at first hand how cities can become smarter through the interconnection of data, instrumentation of systems and intelligence gained from analytics.
The Centre is hosted at the IBM Forum La Gaude, located near Nice in the south of France. Workshops can be held either in the La Gaude center or remotely via videoconference.
