What’s new with TechU in Orlando?

For over two decades, IBM Systems Technical University (TechU) events have delivered technical training for IT professionals on IBM Systems technologies and products. Each year we work to improve the content to meet the evolving needs of IT practitioners. These events are built for you!

At TechU events, you can take advantage of focused, in-depth training sessions, hands-on labs and demos delivered by IBM Distinguished Engineers, developers and product experts. Learn how to plan, architect, install, configure, migrate, operate and tune IBM infrastructure on IBM Z, IBM Power Systems and IBM Storage.

In addition to sharpening your technical skills, you can also:

The next US TechU is happening on Orlando, from April 30 to May 4, 2018. There you’ll find the depth and breadth of technical training that’s made TechU events a go-to destination for IBM Systems skill building. Speakers like Kathryn Guarini and Hillery Hunter from IBM Research will offer insights into game-changing developments in today’s cloud and AI landscape. There are some exciting new things on offer in Orlando too!

Accelerate learning with z/OS for Rookies

We’re excited to offer a dedicated track at TechU Orlando called z/OS for Rookies to help accelerate the learning of your newer IBM Z programmers and engineers. These sessions will offer hands-on training delivered by IBM Technical Training instructors.

In addition, IBM Systems Lab Services is partnering with Interskill on a post-event learning package. Attendees of the z/OS for Rookies track will have the opportunity to join 53 Z mainframe e-learning courses at no additional cost. The Interskill courses are available from the time you register for TechU through July 31, 2018.

IBM Storage Certification Boot Camps

IBM has extended the recertification deadline for IBM Storage Systems Authorized Business Partners to May 31, 2018. Not only can you take certifications at TechU for a reduced rate, but you can prepare for exams with IBM Storage Certification Boot Camps on site. The boot camps are designed to help you quickly grasp the core concepts of key IBM Storage hardware and Spectrum software products needed to be successful with passing the following Storage certification exams:

  • IBM Certified Specialist: New Workloads Sales V1
  • IBM Certified Specialist: Traditional Workload Sales V1
  • IBM Certified Specialist: IBM Virtualized Storage V2
  • IBM Certified Specialist: IBM Technical Storage

These fast-paced, three-hour sessions focus on learning core features, functions and capabilities with an emphasis on competitive differentiators. Attendees also learn to compare and contrast products, as well as use key IBM Storage tools and resources and the IBM Solutions Assurance process

Cognitive Systems track

Cognitive solutions are set to transform the world in dramatic ways. At TechU Orlando, you can learn more about AI on IBM Power Systems by following the Cognitive Systems track. IBM experts will share their deep technical expertise in applied AI, model tuning, GPUs and distributed systems, and workload provisioning and management. You’ll find concepts of AI, machine learning and deep learning along with industry use cases, best practices, development frameworks and industry tools.
