For the past 20 years, IBM Business Partners have helped drive innovation for their customers. And to this day, these leaders continue to pave a path to the future through the use of technology. To recognize this amazing work, IBM has been highlighting these partners through the IBM Beacon Awards – one of the highest recognitions given by the IBM Partner Ecosystem.
After last year’s award ceremony, the 2019 recipients shared their success stories and what this award has meant for them and their companies. Here are some highlights:
The tangible proof of a long-term partnership
“Prolifics’ presence in the marketplace is bolstered by the fact that we can point to the awards that we’ve won over the many years with IBM,” notes Mark Rowan, Global Head of Sales for Information Management and Analytics for IBM Business Partner Prolifics. “Our clients can look at our relationship and know that we are a trusted IBM partner that invests, that continually delivers success for our clients.” In 2019, Prolifics won the Beacon Award for Outstanding Analytics Solution.
The springboard to possible future funding
Alongside IBM, IBM Business Partner Assimil8 Ltd. shares a passion for data, analytics and AI. The company helps its customers define and execute data strategies. In 2019, Assimil8 won the IBM Beacon Award for Outstanding Analytics Embed Solution. “Partnering with IBM certainly makes our solution more credible and more valuable to our customer propositions,” notes Karl Mullins, Director at Assimil8. He continues, “We hope to expand out that platform to bring in lots more functionality, much more value added for the customer in terms of their feedback. Maybe gain some funding and put that back into the technical teams to bring out a bigger and better product.”
The catalyst to expand geographical reach
“Our company feels very honored to receive this prestigious Beacon Award,” says Chen Yi Ming, Consultant, IBM Business Partner Shanghai JoinHand Technology Co., which won a 2019 Beacon Award for Outstanding Intelligent Collaboration Solution. These awards often provide a boost of assurance as a company makes expansion plans beyond its current market. As Chen Yi says, “It means a lot to us. It means confidence for us to promote our product beyond borders.”
The way to showcase a new area of expertise
In 2019, IBM Business Partner Mark III Systems won the Beacon Award for Digital Marketing Excellence. “It’s the first time that we’ve won this award. Historically, we’ve won lots of awards in technical infrastructure categories. But this year, we were very proud to be recognized for our overall marketing strategy,” says Stan Wysocki, President of the company.
The motivation to keep forging ahead
For Essam Alshiha, President and CEO of IBM Business Partner Saudi Business Machines (SBM), receipt of the 2019 Beacon Award for Outstanding Software-Defined Storage Solution encouraged the company to keep searching for new innovations. Alshiha noted, “It is an honor for SBM to receive such a prestigious and highest recognition award by IBM. This should motivate SBM – the whole team of SBM – in order to go and do more and more for IBM.”
The recognition of delivering customer value
“What is great about winning the IBM Beacon Award is that it really highlights companies that are working with IBM to bring out the best innovations and solutions to our customers,” says Alfredo Reyes, Assistant Vice President for the Integrated Process Management practice for IBM Business Partner Cognizant. The company won its award for Outstanding Hybrid Cloud Solution. Cognizant focuses on delivering innovation to its customers, but Reyes sees an even higher value derived from that work. He says, “The service that we’re providing at the end of the day by creating these solutions that can really make a difference is the real value.”
What’s New for the 2020 IBM Beacon Awards
IBM Beacon Award winners receive promotional materials, a trophy to display and an “IBM Beacon Award winner” mark that can be displayed on the winner’s website. However, in 2020 there are even more benefits for winners, such as an expanded executive Think 2020 package that includes one complimentary registration plus four-night hotel accommodations.
Winners also receive an additional complimentary pass to Think 2020 that can be shared with a colleague or a client. Award certificates allow recipients the ability to promote the win in offices worldwide. Additionally, increased social media exposure and promotion is planned for the 2020 event.
Another new feature this year is a new and improved nomination platform. We’ve streamlined the nomination process. So now nominees can save their progress and revisit the site at any time. Nominees may also manage both submitted and pending nominations through the platform.
The deadline to submit nominations for the 2020 IBM Beacon Awards is January 28, 2020, so get started today.
