IBM Cloud Security Advisor is now available as Beta

IBM Cloud Security Advisor has attracted hundreds of users since the experimental introduction at IBM Think 2018 by providing centralized security management. Now with additional powerful capabilities, Security Advisor moves from experimental to beta.

Security Advisor brings your IBM Cloud security into one dashboard and console to enable centralized security management for the security admin. In the dashboard, Security Advisor summarizes critical security information across easy-to-navigate tiles to clearly notify you when a security issue is detected. You can then drill down into more specific information to investigate prioritized issues and learn about the history and detail behind the alert. The service also helps you to keep your environment secure by providing remediation steps to remove the security threat.

Security Advisor layers analytics on centralized vulnerability data, network activity, and application and system findings from IBM Services, partners, and user-defined sources to quickly become the go-to security console to enable you to centralize, view and manage security in your IBM Cloud environment.

Available in this release

  • Manage and browse all configured and available security services
  • Updated central dashboard with key indicator counts for at a glance status and change
  • Dashboard highlights “findings” to speed investigation into important security issues
  • Enrich your dashboard experience with a custom card from your own provider or services
  • Include your own security provider or services to unify your security management and visibility
  • Many API’s and so much more

Try out Security Advisor for free during the beta period. With the automated retention policy, you will have enough time to investigate and resolve while also meeting minimal retention periods in most environments.

You can enable the beta with no migration steps by visiting the dashboard through the catalog or the left-hand menu. Security Advisor is available in US-South during the beta period. You can get help with Security Advisor technical questions at Stack Overflow or IBM developerWorks. For defect or support needs, use the support section in the IBM Cloud menu. We would love to hear your feedback!

To get started with Security Advisor, check it out in the IBM Cloud catalog or read through the documentation.
