Monitoring for Push Notification Service

Share this post:

If you have created a mobile app using the Push Notification Service from the MobileFirst Services Starter boilerplate and are using the Swift SDK or the latest Android/Cordova SDK on the client side, then the performance and subscription data will not be available in the monitoring section of the Push dashboard.

The Swift and latest Android/Cordova SDKs not handling monitoring data is a known limitation and we are working to fix it. You can follow the progress on our dev branch of the SDK repositories. When this limitation is removed, you will be able to use the Swift SDK and the newer (V2) Android and Cordova SDKs, and your monitoring data around Push service will show up under the monitoring section of Push dashboard.

In the meantime, you can still get monitoring data using the Objective-C SDK for iOS and the Android/Cordova V1.x SDK, where this feature continues to be available.

As a side note, we also released a newer experimental, standalone Mobile Analytics service. You can also try out the latest SDKs today with the newly-released Mobile Analytics experimental service.
