Bangalore is bustling with new startup concepts. Innovators are continuously conceptualizing bigger and better ideas that can have larger and better impact on human life. To help their dream concepts become a reality, I started this new meetup series at Bangalore called Bluemix Interactive.
In this event I ask startups (as well as individuals having an idea) to pitch their problem statement. The ideas that resonate most with the audience are chosen for brainstorming, then we work together to derive a technology blueprint using Bluemix technologies.
Abouthive pitches workforce site
This week we had Abouthive founder Vignesh Udh with us. He pitched his idea on how to help unskilled workforce in India to improve their skills in-order to match with global workforce standards. His idea resonated with other participants present in the meetup. We all jumped-in to make his concept more structured. What finally came out was a technology model to connect right vocational skill with the right industry by providing a measurable and guided training from a vocational training institute. During the meetup, participants brainstormed taking the Bluemix and Softlayer offerings into consideration. We helped him to come up with the technology blueprint catered below:
- The Minimum Viable Product (MVP) — To build it quickly he will use readily available WordPress plugins and MySql. His MVP is to create the brand awareness, get leads, and run one full cycle of his basic use-case. This will help him to validate and conceptualize systems to follow up with in later versions.
- Version V1 — With Python (django), PostgreSQL, Apache Spark and CloudantDB in Bluemix he will create the first version. In this version he will collect data, analyze, compute and provide analytics for the carrier path of the trainee.
- Version V2 — His second version will be focused on mobile. In this version he plans to create a hybrid app using Bluemix mobile offering for Apache Cordova. This app will cater to multiple mobile devices not limited to any specific native version.
Vignesh has already started working on his MVP and he has shared with us a glimpse of his portal:
So if you have an idea, please do not hold it back! Let’s meetup and execute it at my next Bluemix Interactive session using Bluemix technologies. Please join our community meetup group and get notified on the next Bluemix Interactive session.
