You use the Admin interface to administer the product.
Through the admin interface, you can complete various tasks, such
as creating lifecycles, assigning privileges to users, installing
packages, and modifying list box values.
Starting Admin sessions
Starting an Admin session requires that you use a supported
browser and that you know the URL for your IBM® Rational® Change
installation. Also, to start an Admin session, your user ID must have
at least one of the IBM Rational Synergy privileges
associated with the Admin interface.
Setting up the system
IBM Rational Change is highly customizable,
and consequently requires some setup before you can use it for change
requests.
Configuring integrations
On the System Administration dialog
box, use the Integrations page to configure integrations
that require detailed setup.

Managing change request processes
The change request (CR) process defines all characteristics
of your workflow, including process-level properties and all lifecycles.
When creating a change request process, you must create the first
state and then the first transition before you can save the change
request process.
Managing list boxes
Use the following topics to learn how to manage list boxes.
Managing read/write security through access control lists
Read/write security features work with lifecycle and project
security. You can define read and write access to change requests,
tasks, and objects based on the group membership of a user.
Showing group members
You can show members of a group on the Groups tab.
The IBM Rational Directory Administration (RDA)
interface is used to manage users and groups, so the information displayed
is read-only.
Modifying the number of users displayed in lists
If you have many users, you can lessen the amount of time
spent loading the user list. You can specify not to load the list
if it is larger than the number you specify. After you set a number,
use a filter to select specific users, rather than load large user
lists.
Managing project security
Use these topics to learn how to plan, configure, and use
the project security feature.
Using the OSLC-CM REST API
The Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration Change Management
(OSLC-CM) specification defines a lightweight, RESTful API for software
change management systems. It acts as a common language for Application Lifecycle
Management (ALM) tools. You can mix and match your choice of tools,
while maintaining an integration between them.
