core software engine of IBM storage virtualization solutions. These solutions include the following product family groups:

Naming: The
IBM Storage Virtualize
name was introduced to consolidate several related product lines:
▪The IBM Storage family
▪The software that runs on the IBM SAN Volume Controller family
▪The IBM Storwize family (now called the System family)
The name of the underlying hardware platform remains intact.
