IBM Navigator for i - Service Availability (Troubleshooting)

Following are some general help pages as well as specific errors listed with potential fixes

  • Connection to node that the GUI is running on is not available or host servers cannot be connected...
    • The host server jobs need to be running on all the servers you want to connect to.  Run on the server:
  • Java Message Service Error Because of Port Restrictions on Certain IBM i Systems Network -> TCP configuration
  • New Navigator for i shows logon screen but presents blank screen after logging in. Confirm the WebSocket Protocol is open on your network Firewall. 

Report to Development
If debugging is necessary, log files for Navigator for i are here:
  • /QIBM/UserData/OS/AdminInst/admin1/wlp/usr/servers/admin1/logs/messages.log

The log files for Monitor job QNAVMNSRV are located here:
  •  /QIBM/UserData/Os400/Navigator/config/MONITOR

All of the pertinent log files can be gathered and sent in to service with the QMGTOOLS HTTP Admin collector:
