IBM Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs Impact Grant Program has provided over 250 analytics grants to nonprofits globally with a market value of $15m. This study not only provides a powerful view of the current state of data and analytics for nonprofits, but also enables us to share our learnings from these grants to benefit the sector.
In partnership with the IBM Institute for Business Value, we surveyed 330 nonprofit organizations globally, and received responses from nonprofit leaders and employees based in over across 34 countries and 12 issue areas. The survey was distributed with the help of our partner, Independent Sector. In addition, the team conducted over 30 interviews with senior leaders of nonprofit organizations, IBM delivery consultants, and IBM analytics and public sector subject matter experts across the world. We also used Watson Analytics for Social Media and examined published thought leadership and research studies to validate trends in the nonprofit data analytics space.
