Business challenge

TTI, Inc. had spent an exorbitant amount of money, time and resources to manually handle repetitive tasks. The company needed to reduce operating costs, boost operational efficiency and free up its employees for more complex, value-added tasks. Therefore, it sought to eliminate mundane, repetitive and manual tasks across disparate systems. To meet these goals, it sought a reliable process-automation solution.

Transformation

After reviewing a range of competitive solutions, TTI engaged IBM Business Partner BP3 Global Inc. and IBM Software Services for Cloud to implement the IBM Robotic Process Automation with Automation Anywhere solution on the IBM Cloud in order to integrate, streamline and automate processes in its finance, quality and sales operations departments. With the first round of automation, the client also gained the ability to streamline and automate intercompany stock and inventory transfers, check and query sales tax certificates, update and manage price changes from suppliers, as well as to process product defect and recall notices. The company has since the implementation, been able to significantly boost its productivity.

Benefits

On implementing the IBM Robotic Process Automation with Automation Anywhere solution on IBM Cloud, TTI saved approximately 34,000 staff hours annually and eliminated the costs associated with hiring 18 new resources. In the first round of automation, it gained the ability to streamline and automate intercompany stock and inventory transfers, check and query sales tax certificates, update and manage price changes from suppliers, as well as process product defect and recall notices. Moreover, the company automatically reviewed, audited and flagged billing disputes, conducted tax processes and reports, validated and executed price change notifications, and effectively reclaimed more than USD 600,000 in revenue regarding unrecognized invoice disputes.

In the future, TTI expects to develop a Robotic Process Automation Center of Excellence to increase revenues.
