Closed as program error.
Error description
The deployment of a JAX-WS application requires more time than expected. The trace information indicates that the degraded performance occurs during the wsgen operation. The following example trace indicates that a considerable amount of time was spent extracting module files for the wsgen operation: [09/09/07 13:17:29:765 JST] 00000023 Axis2Utils 3 Temporarily extracting module file for wsgen compilation [09/09/07 13:18:12:500 JST] 00000023 WASWSDLGenera 3 For implementation class test.slowdeploy.provider.service1.Service1 [09/09/07 13:18:14:187 JST] 00000023 Axis2Utils 3 Temporarily extracting module file for wsgen compilation [09/09/07 13:18:21:203 JST] 00000023 WASWSDLGenera 3 For implementation class test.slowdeploy.provider.service1.Service2

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0 * * administrators of JAX-WS applications * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The deployment of a JAX-WS application * * may be slow if it contains a large * * number of services * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fixpack containing this APAR * **************************************************************** If a JAX-WS application contains a web module that contains a large number of services, then the deployment of the application may take more time than expected. If com.ibm.ws.websvcs.*=all trace is enabled, trace statements like the following may be seen repeatedly [10/27/09 12:53:00:078 CDT] 0000001e Axis2Utils 3 Temporarily extracting module file for wsgen compilation
Problem conclusion
During the deployment of an application, a WSDL file is generated for every service. The web module is extracted right before generating the WSDL file, and is deleted when the WSDL has been generated. This algorithm has been modified so that the web module is only deleted after all of the WSDL files are generated for the services in the application. This change to the algorithm eliminates the unnecessary extraction steps. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.9.
