Base install images for IBM MQ are available from Passport Advantage. Images for maintenance releases (fix packs and CSUs) are available from Fix Central.

Download the latest IBM MQ LTS base install image from Passport Advantage

LTS base images for each operating system are available as parts on Passport Advantage, for which you must have an entitled IBM ID. Passport Advantage also provides an eAssembly (G05JXML), which is a collection of all the latest parts.

To download an image, either click the link for the relevant part number in this section or sign in to Passport Advantage then search for the part number. If you install IBM MQ images on a UNIX or Linux-based platform, you must use GNU tar (also known as gtar) to unpack any tar images.

As shown in the following tables, base images are sometimes updated to a maintenance release level. Such updates are occasional and generally occur for a subset of operating systems.

• If an image is available for the release and operating system that you require, you can just install that image.
• If an image is not available for the release and operating system that you require (for example, no row exists for that release or a cell contains a dash ('-')), install the most recent image that is listed for your operating system then download and apply the maintenance release that you require from Fix Central, as described in the next section.

Also available from Passport Advantage (subject to entitlement) is the IBM Aspera fasp.io Gateway. The eAssembly part number is G05Q7ML and the individual part numbers are shown in the following table.

Download a maintenance release from Fix Central

To download a maintenance release image from Fix Central, you must have an IBM ID.

• For IBM MQ for AIX, Linux, Ubuntu, or Windows, run this Fix Central query to show a list of the latest maintenance release images. Find the "Long Term Support release" entry for your operating system. If you want to see images for earlier releases, click "Show superseded fixes". Select the image that you require then click the Continue button near the start of the page.

• For IBM MQ for IBM i, follow the instructions in the relevant IBM Support document:

Pre-built IBM MQ operator and container images are not available for LTS releases (only for continuous delivery releases). However, you can build your own image by using a non-install IBM MQ LTS package from Fix Central with packaging scripts and code from the IBM MQ container project on GitHub. Note: For older releases up to the end of 2022, non-install packages for building your own container images were available from Passport Advantage instead of Fix Central, as listed in the following table. (The part number for the eAssembly, which contained all the parts at the latest level, was G05JWML).

IBM MQ installation images, including images for maintenance releases (fix packs and CSUs), are available from Shopz.

Sign in to Shopz. After you sign in, you have two options:

• Option 1: Order the features as a new product installation.
• Option 2: Apply PTFs to a previously installed release.

Each of the PIDs in the following list has a Long Term Support and Continuous Delivery orderable feature. Use these PIDs to order the features as a new product installation:

• 5655-MQ9 - IBM MQ for z/OS
• 5655-VU9 - IBM MQ for z/OS Value Unit Edition
• 5655-AV9 - IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS
• 5655-AV1 - IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS Value Unit Edition

Download maintenance release PTFs from Shopz

Sign in to Shopz then order and install PTFs for the relevant APAR, as listed in the following table.

Note: The PTFs for 9.3.0.35 are expected to be available by the end of October.

The final update for IBM MQ Appliance was 9.3.0.31.

Firmware images for base installations and maintenance releases are available from Fix Central. Run this Fix Central query then in the resulting list, find the item labelled "Long Term Support release". Within that item, click "Show superseded fixes" to show the available releases. Select the release that you require then click the Continue button.

The 9.3.0.0 base installation firmware image can be applied only to the M2003 hardware model. Later images can be applied to the M2003 and M2002 hardware models. If you are downloading a maintenance release, apply it to an existing LTS base installation.

• The IBM MQ Mac Toolkit for Development allows the execution of IBM MQ commands (for example MQSC commands) on macOS devices (both ARM64 and x86-64). It also contains client libraries that facilitate the development of macOS client applications that are executed on macOS devices (both ARM64 and x86-64). The client is used in the Get started with IBM MQ tutorials.
• A pre-built IBM MQ Advanced for Developers container image is available from the IBM Container Registry. It runs on Linux/x86-64. Or you can build your own container image to run on ARM64 and x86-64 architectures.
