Local fix

  • <Work Around>

customer can use the workaround as follows:
     Stop the server xxx11011.
     Start the other server xxx1102.
     From Adminconsole startMonitoring.

For monitoring the other server , please repeat the same steps
as above while stopping xxx1102 and starting xxx1101.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: You are not able to access Tivoli *
    * Performance viewer console if the *
    * server is managed by AdminAgent . *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When Users of Websphere Application Server Version 7.0 try to
access Tivoli Performance viewer Console from the
Administrative Console of the AdminAgent Profile for the
servers managed by Administrative Agent, the following
    exception is seen:

"An error occurred while starting monitoring for server {0} on
    node {1}."

    [9/3/09 18:26:26:229 CDT] 00000021 SystemErr R
    javax.management.InstanceNotFoundException: TPV MBean not
    found on node fds11
    at
    com.ibm.ws.tpv.engine.TPVProxyEngine.lookupTPVMBean(TPVProxyEngi
    ne.java:614)
    at
    com.ibm.ws.tpv.engine.TPVProxyEngine.findTPVMBean(TPVProxyEngine
    .java:584)
    at
    com.ibm.ws.tpv.engine.TPVProxyEngine.localInvoke(TPVProxyEngine.
    java:517)
    at
    com.ibm.ws.tpv.engine.TPVProxyEngine.invoke(TPVProxyEngine.java:
    487)
    .......
    .......

With current code the query for TPVMbean would always
result in more than one when multiple servers are managed by
Administrative Agent. The current code base expects only one
    Mbean reference to be returned.

Problem conclusion

  • The Code has been modified to cater to AdminAgent Profile
scenario also by query for the exact server instead of a query
    at the node level.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.9. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
