  Webcontainer automatically scans for annotations when the
  application is at servlet 2.5 level.  When servlets have a
  large class hierarchy many temporary HashMaps will be created
  which temporarily consume additional memory.
  

Problem conclusion

• The WebContainer code was optimized to reduce the memory
  allocation when annotations are used.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fixpack 7.0.0.7
