Error description

  • Websphere Proxy forwarding incorrect server port information to
the backend server if the front-end load balancer port mapping
    is used.

This is causing the AppServer webcontainer to use the incorrect
port in the redirect location headers.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When the Port mapping is configured on the front-end Load
balancer, the proxy's listening ports are different from the
web site external ports. This will cause the proxy to forward
an incorrect server port to the application server and the
server will return incorrect redirect link in 302 or 301
    responses.

Problem conclusion

  • In this APAR, the proxy server provides the following custom
property to allow users to correct the server ports before
proxy forwards them to the application server. This new
custom property could be created in the administrative console
under "proxy servers" -> your_proxy_server_name -> "HTTP Proxy
Server Settings" -> "Proxy settings" -> "Custom Properties".

    Property Name: http.virtual.port.map
Property Value: String value of port mapping pairs separated by
    semicolon.

Such as when the String value is "20080:80;20443:443", the
proxy server will convert the port number 20080 and 20443 to 80
    and 443.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 6.1.0.23 and 7.0.0.5. Please refer to the Recommended
