Operator tasks overview

An operator task is a routine maintenance activity or task that is assigned to operations personnel by planning engineers.

Work plans for operator tasks
A work plan describes the labor, materials, tools, services, and tasks that are essential to complete an operator task. You can copy an existing job plan and modify it to suit your needs.
Removal of work plans from operator tasks
Under certain circumstances, you can remove a work plan from an operator task by using the Remove Work Plan action.
Status of operator tasks
The status of an operator task indicates its position in the processing cycle and the actions that can be done on the record.
Updates to archived operator tasks
Closed and canceled operator tasks are archived and become historical records. You can update a historical record by using the Edit History Activity action.
Deletion of operator tasks
For auditing purposes, you cannot always delete operator task records. If you cannot delete an activity, you can stop all action on the activity by changing the status of the activity to Canceled.
