PK96413: MIGRATION FROM 6.1 TO 7.0 DEAMON DIR PERMISSIONS INCORRECT

Error description

The migration to V70 ends successfully with warnings but the
Deamon is unable to start after the migration.
During the migration, there are RACF errors reported in the
syslog indicating a permissions problem:

The problem occurs because Migration creates the daemon
directory using root authority or UID=0 during CRPROF.

Then, while using ADMIN authority during WASPostUpgrade, a
was.env file cannot be created under the Daemon directory due to
permission problems.

Local fix

Change the ownership and permissions of the Deamon
directory,
/etc/wasv7config/sxcell/sxnodeb/Daemon/config

Migration creates the Daemon Directory using UID=0 or required
file system authority during Profile Creation (CRPROF).  Then,
during WASPostUpgrade, in which the minimum required authority
is Admin Authority, the was.env file cannot be created under
the Daemon Directory due to permission problems. The Daemon
then fails to start.

Problem conclusion

After the Daemon Directory is created during Profile Creation,
Migration changes the directory permissions.  Then during
WASPostUpgrade, the was.env file can be created.

APAR PK96413 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.9 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
