Abstract
Your IBM ID which is linked to Software Subscription and Support (S&S) enables you to download Fixpacks and iFixes. This includes obtaining security vulnerability fixes.
From 2021, IBM MQ requires S&S entitlement checks in order to access downloads for MQ Fixes from MQ Fix Central. This applies only to software, such as full product maintenance, that requires license entitlement. Some IBM MQ downloads, such as newer versions of the IBM MQ client, are available to all users regardless of S&S entitlement, although an IBM.com account registration is required in order to download. There is no charge to register for an IBM.com account - refer to the links below for more information on account creation.
Use this technote to ensure you can access IBM MQ maintenance fixes for your company.
Downloading Fixes will be available to individuals whose company has current S&S license covering IBM MQ and
and have had their IBM IDs authorized by their company.

+++ Starting in 2021, the download of IBM MQ fixes requires checking of the IBM ID with S&S entitlement .
+ Entitlement checks include:
Interim Fixes (iFixes), including fixes for security vulnerabilities,
IBM ID has been authorized by your company for IBM MQ technical support and fixes under your companies S&S or other applicable software support agreements.
If you do not have an IBM ID you can request one when you try to do any of the following:
Log into IBM community,
Open a Support case,
Download a fix,
Request authorization for IBM MQ technical support,

Refer to section "Support Registration" to register for authorization and obtain assistance if needed.
IBM MQ will require entitled authorization for fixes per the following schedule and as new fixes are published:

Once you log into the Support Registration you will see your list of authorized IBM Customer numbers (ICN).
This is half way down the page under "Existing access (0) Pending access requests (0)".
If there are no ICNs listed then you will need to request access for an ICN at top of the form.
If ICN is listed you may click on the ICN to obtain list of authorized products for that ICN.
2: If IBM MQ is entitled by an IBM stack product such as WebSphere Application Server, will I be able to obtain fixes?
Yes, as long as your have current S&S for the stack product that provided WAS in the same License.
Granting authorization to users is managed by your company.
Once you request authorization, your company's administrator or their designated member will grant or deny that access.
Not necessarily.
Currently our entitlement check for opening support cases is not product specific, we only check that you have active entitlement for one or more products when opening a support case.
It is possible you have access to support via any IBM product but in order to download fixes for IBM MQ you will need to pass product level entitlement checking for the particular fix you are downloading.
