How do I check which version I am currently running?
On platforms other than IBM i, z/OS and the IBM MQ Appliance, run dspmqver, and if that is not found run mqver. If neither command is found, try using the operating system commands and utilities to display installed software levels.
On IBM i run DSPMQMVER, and if that is not found run CALL PGM(QMQM/MQVER). If neither command is found, use GO LICPGM option 10 and press PF11 to view the versions of the installed programs.
On z/OS, look for message CSQY000I in the MSTR joblog to determine your version.
To display the IBM MQ Managed File Transfer version, run: fteDisplayVersion
On the MQ Appliance, follow the IBM MQ Appliance Knowledge Center instructions to display the version from the CLI. The IBM MQ Appliance M2001 is 8436-55X or 8436-54A while the IBM MQ Appliance M2000 is Machine Type-Model 8436-54X:

Is any information available to help me upgrade to a later version?
The IBM Knowledge Center includes information to assist you in migrating to a supported version of IBM MQ and to new MQ Appliance hardware:
- Maintaining and migrating IBM MQ 9.2
- Maintaining and migrating IBM MQ 9.1
- Upgrading MQ Appliance hardware
- Installing new MQ Appliance firmware
Make sure your existing IBM MQ 9.0 queue managers can be upgraded directly to the latest MQ version. Before upgrading MQ, review the migration paths below unless you plan to create new queue managers instead of migrating your existing ones:
Can I purchase a support extension for my current version?
Support extensions might be available for IBM MQ 9.0 for an additional fee. To inquire whether extended support is available, contact your local IBM sales representative.
US Customers should contact Customer Support Operations at 1-877-426-6006, option #2. If you provide your IBM customer number, they can quickly find your sales representative.
Customers in other geographies should refer to the IBM directory of worldwide support contacts to find sales contact numbers in your region:
Are the MQ 9.0 clients and managed file transfer agents also going out of support?
Yes. The IBM MQ 9.0 clients and IBM MQ 9.0 managed file transfer agents go out of support at the same time as the IBM MQ server on that platform.
Are these products still supported when they are bundled with another IBM product?
Yes, support is available for all bundled components until the IBM product that includes them is withdrawn from support. However, they are only supported when used by the bundling IBM product. Unrelated usage is not supported:
Is the IBM MQ 9.0 Resource Adapter supported in WebSphere Application Server?
Yes, the IBM MQ 9.0 Resource Adapter shipped with WebSphere Application Server 9.0.0 is supported as long as that version of WebSphere Application Server remains in support, or longer if you purchase a WebSphere Application Server support extension. However, if you manually install your own copy of the IBM MQ 9.0 Resource Adapter in WebSphere Application Server or any third-party Java EE server, it is not supported. In addition, the IBM MQ 9.0 Resource Adapter is not supported with WebSphere Application Server 9.0.5, which uses the IBM MQ 9.1 Resource Adapter instead.
Is documentation still available for these products?
