V11.0.0.4

Discover redesigned Automation Anywhere documentation
Automation Anywhere documentation has redesigned its user documentation. The new documentation site is available here: https://docs.automationanywhere.com/. You don't need a user account to access the documentation.
Benefit from new Control Room features
Upgrade an IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Express Control Room to IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Enterprise
If you started task automation by using the entry-level IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Express, you can now easily upgrade to IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Enterprise to grow your automation environment and benefit from additional capabilities, such as Bot Insight and Attended Bots. For more information, see Upgrading from IBM RPA Express to IBM RPA Enterprise.
Benefit from additional database management systems
In addition to Microsoft SQL Server, you can now use Oracle as the database management system for both the Control Room and the Bot Insight databases. For more information about the supported database management systems and their versions, see the IBM Robotic Process Automation with Automation Anywhere compatibility report.
Improved high availability and failover support for authentication
You can now configure Active Directory for multi-forest authentication to Control Room. You can provide URLs of multiple global catalogs for each forest so that if a global catalog in a forest goes down, users can still be authenticated through the other global catalogs in the forest. For more information, see Custom Installation in the Automation Anywhere documentation.
Track imported bots
When you move bots between environments, for example, from test to production, you can use the Export-Import APIs to automate these lifecycle operations. To track that the bots were successfully imported into the target environment, you can check the dedicated import-bot entries in the audit log. For more information, see Import bots in the Automation Anywhere documentation.
Benefit from new Bot Creator features
Fast track bot development
You can now download pre-built bots from the Automation Anywhere Bot Store. Any user registered with Bot Store can now log in to Bot Store from Bot Creator and download the pre-configured bots from the Bot Store. For more information about the Bot Store and how to register for it, go to the Automation Anywhere Bot Store site.
Automate connecting to FTP servers
The FTP command now supports user-defined variables so that you can automate connecting to FTP servers with different port numbers. For more information, see the FTP/SFTP command in the Automation Anywhere documentation.

V11.0.0.3

Analyze automation trends by using Bot Insight
Bot Insight is now available as a separate licensed component for IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Enterprise only. When you develop a bot, you can enable data collection for variables that you want to track in Bot Insight. When the bot runs, data is collected for the variables, which you can then display in dashboards in the control room. To assign users a Bot Insight license, see the section on managing users in Managing IBM RPA. For more information about how to use Bot Insight, see Using Bot Insight in the Automation Anywhere documentation.

V11.0.0.2

Track Attended Bot users
IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Enterprise only. To track your license compliance, you must register Attended Bot users in the control room. For more information, see Tracking license usage.
Automate tasks in SAP systems
You can now automate tasks that are done in SAP systems, such as data entry and invoice processing by using the SAP Integration command. For more information about the command and how to set up IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere to connect to SAP, see SAP Integration Command in the Automation Anywhere documentation.

V11.0.0.1

Automate your daily activities
If you have IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Enterprise, you can now install an Attended Bot client to run bots on your desktop. Use attended bots to support your daily activities by automating repetitive tasks so you can focus on the more rewarding aspects of your job. Examples of where you can use attended bots include data entry from a spreadsheet to a system, data transfer from one system to another, and data collection from multiple systems into a spreadsheet. For installation information, see Installing an IBM RPA client.

V11.0.0.0

Automate business operations
You are now entitled to use other products in the IBM Digital Business Automation platform with IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere:
IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Platform Enterprise
You can use all the offerings in the IBM Digital Business Automation platform to exploit digital labor capabilities to free up your employees to focus on higher-value work. For more information, see Integrating IBM RPA with IBM Digital Business Automation offerings.
IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Platform Express
You can use IBM Business Automation Workflow to automate tasks in business processes. For more information, see Integrating bots with IBM Business Automation Workflow processes.
Benefit from new Control Room features
Manage workload on bot runners
Queues provide an efficient, scalable way to distribute work across bot runners. You can create, update and control the way work items are added to queues and assigned to bot runners. For more information, see Manage workload queues in the Automation Anywhere documentation.
Benefit from granular role-based access and ownership for bot credentials
The credential vault now uses the AES-256 and RSA-2014 algorithms for stronger encryption of credentials. For increased data security, the credential vault now supports locker-based ownership and sharing of credentials. The fine-grained role-based access control also ensures that you can implement separation of duties for credential management and consumption. For more information, see Credentials - Overview in the Automation Anywhere documentation.
Integrate with existing corporate user directories
Control Room now supports single sign-on (SAML 2.0) for the authentication of control room users. For more information, see Configure Control Room for single sign-on in the Automation Anywhere documentation.
Automate bot lifecycle management
Bot Lifecycle Management (BLM) enables you to move bots easily between different environments, such as development, test, and production. For more information, see API to export and import Bots for Bot Lifecycle Management (BLM) in the Automation Anywhere documentation.
Experience the redesigned user interface (UI)
The navigation is now arranged according to the artifact that you want to work with, for example, dashboards, bots, or workload queues, or administration operations, such as user and role administration. The dashboards are now based on Bot Insights data. In addition, the control room UI is responsive. For more information, see Control Room Overview in the Automation Anywhere documentation.
Experience easier custom installations
Control Room no longer has separate components for applications and shared data and services. There is now only a single custom installation that you can set up for a clustered configuration. For more information, see Installing IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Control Room.
Use Control Room in new environments
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2017
For more information about hardware and software requirements, see the IBM Robotic Process Automation with Automation Anywhere compatibility report.
Benefit from new Bot Creator features
Speed up integrating with IBM Business Automation Workflow
Starting with IBM Business Automation Workflow V18.0.0.1, you can define an activity in a process to be performed by a bot and then generate a bot definition. You can download the resulting XML file and import it into Bot Creator to implement the steps for the robot task that do the work. For more information, see Implementing a robot task.
Benefit from an integrated workbench for developing task bots and MetaBots
Bot Creator now has an integrated workbench for creating and maintaining both task bots and MetaBots. This means that almost all commands and editing features are available for creating MetaBots too. For more information, see Inserting TaskBot / MetaBot Logic in the Automation Anywhere documentation.
Interact reliably with applications on remote desktops or virtual machines
In previous releases, automating tasks that were exposed through remote desktops or exposed on virtual machines, for example, by using Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp, was not reliable. You can now create MetaBot logics that can recognize input fields and buttons from the remote image and interact with them as if the applications were running locally. For more information, see AISense Overview in the Automation Anywhere documentation.
Use Bot Creator in new environments
  • Microsoft Windows 10
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016
  • Microsoft Edge
For more information about hardware and software requirements, see the IBM Robotic Process Automation with Automation Anywhere compatibility report.
