Upgrading from IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Express to IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Enterprise

You can upgrade IBM® RPA with Automation Anywhere V11.0.0.x Express to the latest version of IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Enterprise.

Procedure

  • Control Room

    If you are upgrading from an earlier version of IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Express version to the latest version of IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Enterprise, complete the following steps:

    1. Download the Control Room upgrade package from IBM Support Fix Central and extract the files.
      See the upgrade document on the IBM Support site for links to the packages.
    2. Install the upgrade.
      1. In the directory that contains the extracted upgrade package, right-click upgradeControlRoom.bat, and select Run as administrator.
      2. Read and accept the license terms for the update. You see a confirmation message when the upgrade process starts. You must use the same settings for the Enterprise edition as you used for your Express installation.
        Tip: The upgrade procedure displays your current settings in a new browser window.
    If you are upgrading IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Express to the same version of IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Enterprise, download the installation package from IBM Passport Advantage®, and follow the instructions in Installing IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere Control Room.
  • IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere clients

    You can upgrade any version of the Express client to the latest Enterprise version by completing the following steps:

    1. Download the latest IBM Robotic Process Automation with Automation Anywhere client installation package from IBM Passport Advantage and extract the files. For more information, see Downloading the installation packages.
    2. Install the client.
      1. In the directory that contains the extracted installation package, right-click installRPAClient, and select Run as administrator.
      2. Read and accept the license terms then choose the client type you want to install.
      3. Enter the installation location for the client. When the installation finishes successfully, you see a confirmation message that the client is installed. If errors occur, check the logs for more information.
    3. Complete the client setup.
