Select Product Information File page

Use the Select Product Information File page to specify the product information file from which to retrieve the information for your products.

Table 1 describes the items that are displayed on the Select Product Information File page.

Item Description
Select one or more files that reside on or can be accessed by the primary system. Select this option to retrieve product information from a URL, data set, or UNIX file that can be accessed by the primary z/OSMF host system. Then, in the Product Information Files table, select the files to be retrieved and click Retrieve.

The table lists the product information files that are defined to z/OSMF. By default, the product information file that IBM® supplies for IBM z Systems software is provided. To add a file, complete the steps provided in help topic Adding product information files.

The following properties are provided for each product information file:

  • File. The URL, data set name, or UNIX file name and path for the product information file.
  • Description. Description of the product information file.
  • Version. Date the file was created or last updated.
  • Activity. If the file is being modified, the lock icon and the Being modified link are displayed. Otherwise, this column is blank.
  • HTTP Proxy. HTTP proxy the primary system uses when retrieving a file from a URL.
  • Last Retrieved. Date and time the contents of the file were last retrieved.
  • Retrieved By. User ID of the user who last retrieved the contents of the file.
  • Last Modified. Date and time the information about the file was last modified.
  • Modified By. User ID of the user who last modified the information about the file.
  • Created. Date and time the information about the file was added to z/OSMF.
  • Created By. User ID of the user who added the information about the file.
  • Locked. Date and time the file was locked. This column is blank if the file is not currently locked.
  • Locked By. User ID of the user who locked the file.

The last six properties are hidden by default. To display them, use the Configure Columns action.

Select a file that resides on your local workstation. Select this option if the product information file you want to retrieve resides on or can be accessed by your local workstation. Then, in the File name field, click Browse to select the file to be retrieved. You can select only one file to be retrieved. The size of the file must not exceed 5 MB (megabytes), and its contents must be formatted as JSON data.
