Automatically registering clients

You can automatically register clients who are currently only registered in an application external to Watson Care Manager so that you do not need to manually enter their registration information.

Before you begin

Before you automatically register clients, ensure you follow the steps in Verifying clients are not already registered to ensure that they are not already registered.

About this task

During the automatic registration process, Watson Care Manager registers the client with the following information from the other application (if available):
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • Email Address
Note: If the client's date of birth or gender is not available in the other application, a message displays. If you know this information, you must manually register the client.
Important: The registration process takes up to 15 minutes to complete. The client becomes available in Watson Care Manager when the registration process is fully complete. If you or another user tries to automatically register the client again before 15 minutes elapse, a message displays and the Register action is disabled.

A client may also be automatically registered in Watson Care Manager from an external application via the referrals process. After client registration, no updates to the client's information are received from the other application. However, if you add, modify, or delete demographics or contact data for the client, your updates are shared with the other application so that the latest client information is available in both systems.

Procedure

  1. When you click Register Client from the Actions menu for the relevant client in the Search Results pane, the Register Client page opens.
  2. Click Register.
    The client is automatically registered and their Summary page opens.
