Capture your new license order details in a file
Shopz has enhanced the facility that allows you to save your new license order details in a file prior to submitting it to IBM for processing. This facility can be used to capture your new license order information and use it within your own procurement systems, for example.
Improved Shopz Site Availability Information
Shopz has improved the Shopz sign in page and the Customer service page to include a new Shopz Site Availability link that will indicate the dates and times when the Shopz site will be unavailable for usage due to a scheduled maintenance window.
New ordering options for individual products and sets of products in ServerPac, without requiring IBM z/OS® or a major subsystem to be included in an order, within the CICS, NCP and IMS product lists
Using Shopz, you will be able to order eligible products in a Product ServerPac in the same manner as for regular ServerPac. Shopz will have a new triangle icon to indicate which products in the ServerPac catalog are eligible for a Product ServerPac. Because this is a ServerPac, Shopz product requisite checking will enforce requisites required for installation, but similar to CBPDO, Shopz will also display requisites that can be bypassed if you already have them installed on your system.
A Product ServerPac has the same characteristics as a regular ServerPac. IBM installs the product or product set when manufacturing your order and delivers the target and distribution libraries with service integrated (applied and accepted) to the latest RSU level and with HIPER and PRP service applied, and the SMP/E environment with a single GLOBAL zone and the minimum number of TARGET and DLIB zones required. By default, for the z/OS SREL, IBM delivers WebSphere® products in their own zone pair, IBM Installation Manager installed products in their own zone pair, and the rest of the products in a separate zone pair. The intent is for you to manage the products you ordered as a product set in the delivered SMP/E environment.
IBM Marketing Enablement
Shopz has been enabled to allow the display of various IBM related offers and promotions to enrich your shopping experience.
Improved Shopz user ID Management
Shopz has made some improvements to how user IDs are managed. Shopz will notify you in advance if your Shopz user ID is a candidate for future expiration due to inactivity. If you receive an email from Shopz indicating that your user ID is getting near its expiration, you can simply login to Shopz and 'reactivate' your user ID.
More product choices plus 24X7 access to the z Systems software you own
Shopz has extended the product catalog to include many of the latest IBM z Systems software products to further enhance the 'one stop shopping' approach. In the Shopz product catalog, please select the 'z/OS - Products - Standalone products' package type to order standalone entitled product refreshes and new standalone product licenses.
New option for secure delivery via FTP using Secure Sockets Layer (FTPS) for product and service downloads plus Enhanced connectivity test to verify your setup for secure delivery
The Shopz download pages will provide an optional method to download product orders directly to your z/OS host system using FTPS. The CustomPac installation dialog will allow you to specify your own FTP.DATA configuration file or will create one to use for the RECEIVE job. You can access a connectivity test site from Shopz to verify your system setup for Internet delivery by downloading a test package to your z/OS host system using FTP or FTPS, or download it to your workstation first using Download Director. It is recommended that you verify your system setup prior to placing your first Internet order or first attempt to download it using FTPS.
