2024
Make data consumption and management smarter with generative AI.
In 2024, we will use AI in data consumption and management, and open metadata will become a differentiator. Driven by AI, we will blur the line between how structured and unstructured data is managed.
2025
Enable ubiquitous AI workloads; open engines and formats attain parity.
By 2025, the cost performance of pluggable open engines to process open-format data will reach parity with proprietary online analytical processing solutions for many use cases. We will extend our data platforms with, and for, generative and agentic AI.
2026
Leverage AI to automate the management of an enterprise’s data and democratize its use.
By 2026, we will make available a combination of structured and unstructured data for generative and agentic AI to leverage as it moves from self-service retrieval to more complex tasks such as causal and predictive analytics. We will use such generative and agentic AI to manage the data platform.
2027
Have semi-autonomous agents that collaborate to manage enterprise data estates.
By 2027, all forms of data consumption will be democratized, from basic reporting to predictive insights, sophisticated analytics, and decision-making, and will be managed by semi-autonomous AI agents.
2029
Technologies driven by AI will transform the world of data.
New data representations will upend traditional data management to unlock new classes of insights. AI-focused hardware innovations beyond GPUs will greatly accelerate data processing.
2030+
Make access to instant permissioned data easy and everywhere.
Beyond 2030, we will increase by 10x-100x the speed, scale, and depth of data and insights that a user can instantly find and access regardless of the original source and modality—on devices, edge, data center, SaaS, etc.
