The IBM® Envizi Planning Analytics AddOn is an integration between Envizi ESG Suite and IBM Planning Analytics. The AddOn enables you to use your data from Envizi ESG Suite in IBM Planning Analytics to perform forecasting and scenario modelling, to plan future strategies.

Before you set up the integration, make sure your data in IBM Envizi ESG Suite is centralized, accurate, complete, and auditable. Envizi ESG Suite provides the unified data foundation, which is your single source of truth for auditable data across scopes and geographic locations.

Key components of the integration are:
Data exchange
Data is exchanged between Envizi ESG Suite and IBM Planning Analytics by using an API-based file exchange, which provides a secure, reliable, and automated means for data transfer.
To provision the integration with IBM Planning Analytics, see Provisioning Planning Analytics. When the integration is complete, the monthly dataset files are pushed to the nominated IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) by using the IBM Planning Analytics API. The process can take minutes. Large files use pre-processing chunking as part of a multi-part upload. The Turbo Integrator process automates dimensions and cubes for use in the PAW.
Note: The latest Envizi ESG Suite monthly dataset files are pushed to IBM Planning Analytics as part of an overnight job. The dataset can also be manually refreshed via the Data Flow Automation module. For more information, see Provisioning IBM Planning Analytics.
Data cube
The Envizi ESG Suite monthly dataset is replicated in your IBM Planning Analytics environment as a data cube, which you can use to perform custom modelling and forecasting.
The IBM Planning Analytics Turbo Integrator processes are triggered when the IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) receives the updated monthly dataset files from Envizi ESG Suite. The process builds, defines, and keeps up-to-date all dimensions, hierarchies, subsets, and fact data. Data can be used for analysis and forecasting immediately.
Updates, patches, and new Turbo Integrator code are deployed via GitHub repository connections to each IBM Planning Analytics instance, which helps ensure that all customers get the full benefit of the integration service.

Accelerators
Minimum viable product (MVP) solution templates are provided for common use cases. When you log in to IBM Planning Analytics, from the Quick Launch section, click Your Applications and the accelerators for Envizi ESG Suite are displayed.
After the integration is set up, the high-level steps to follow are:
  • Create baseline forecasts.
  • Create target scenarios based on the baseline forecasts.
  • Compare the target with the baseline to identify gaps.
  • Develop abatement programs and actions and apply them to the baseline.
  • Analyze the impact of each program on the baseline forecasts.
  • Create target scenarios with the programs applied and verify that the programs close the gaps identified.
  • Export the results to the programs and targets modules in IBM Envizi ESG Suite.
