Applying programs to a baseline forecast

Simulate the impact of proposed programs on emissions, cost, and resources by applying program measures over time, location, and data type.

Procedure

  1. Open the Program Setup worksheet.
  2. Select Location Program members from the integrated hierarchy.
  3. Choose Utility/Datatype and Measure from the selection widgets.
    For example, CapEx, OpEx, Emissions.
  4. Use Set Editor to select program members to simulate. Adjust the grid by moving dimensions, such as placing Measure in rows to view multiple measures.
  5. Enter program names and monthly impact values for each measure to help analyze and determine which actions should be undertaken by a business.
Note: Note that the signage of elements entered is important. Negative in cost and emissions indicates reductions/savings; positive indicates increases. For example: A negative value entered in a cost dimension means that you are reducing an expense or saving money. Similarly, a positive value entered in the carbon emissions measure means you are increasing the amount of carbon the action produces.

What to do next

Navigate to the Program Analysis tab to view the results after you quantify the impacts of the actions.
