Migrating to an IBM Cloud environmentDetermining that IBM offered the high-powered cloud infrastructure and advanced cognitive technology required, Orenda joined the IBM Watson ecosystem developer community. The company migrated its monitoring solution to an IBM Bluemix environment in Toronto, Canada, incorporating the IBM Watson Personality Insights service, part of the IBM Watson Developer Cloud offering, into its application.“By having Watson analyze the social media content we capture, we’re able to give our customers actionable insight,” says Seajay. “For example, we can tell a sports team what its fan base values as a group, allowing the organization to engage with fans more intimately and develop targeted marketing strategies.”
Continuing to evolve an innovative platform
The IBM Cloud Platform and hosting environment provides Orenda with a flexible, cost-effective platform for testing and integrating new product features. “We can plug something into the Orenda software system to see if it works,” says Seajay. “The IBM Cloud environment gives us flexibility and the ability to grow where the market wants us to grow without a huge investment of time and money.” And with IBM Cloud infrastructure, Orenda easily scales to accommodate customer needs. “If we have a customer asking us to track 50,000 different users and have it ready by the end of the week, we can say ‘yes,’” says Seajay. “In every case, IBM has been exceptional in helping us meet what’s being demanded of our small company.” Finally, by teaming with a trusted global IT leader, Orenda bolsters its value proposition. Seajay sums up, “When people ask us if our data is secure, we can just say, ‘have you heard of IBM?’ With the brand recognition IBM has, people feel quite confident that their information is going to be kept safe.”
