Carhartt’s senior management team realized that its employees were often busy with repetitive, low-value administrative tasks. Clearly, it would be better to assign these talented people to focus on strategic initiatives that help move the business forward. Carhartt decided it was time to review its processes, and look for ways to streamline ways of working.
By reducing the administration workload and going fully digital, the company would release its internal resources for more valuable, pro-active tasks. To meet its aim, Carhartt wanted to eliminate slow, non-digital processes, driving greater operational productivity and efficiency across the business.
Finding the right fit
Carhartt joined forces with a team from IBM Services to replace its manual processes with fully-digital business operations, supported by IBM and SAP solutions. The objectives were to redesign workflows to take advantage of integrated digital systems that would reduce operational costs, enable error-free processes, and cut IT administration.
As part of this new digital landscape, Carhartt deployed a wide range of enterprise solutions, and their portfolio includes IBM WebSphere® Commerce, IBM Watson™ Insights, SAP Apparel and Footwear ERP, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Process Integration and Salesforce CRM.
The IBM Services team helped the company with thought leadership IBM Services now maintains, manages, develops and extends the company’s enterprise applications, releasing precious time for Carhartt’s team to focus on business innovation.
