Cyberconference 2026 convenes Canada’s cybersecurity ecosystem – industry leaders, public sector organizations, and researchers – to examine today’s most pressing security challenges and the transformations reshaping our digital environment.

Taking place April 28–29, 2026 at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, the conference’s 6th edition looks toward the 2030 horizon with major discussions on AI and cybersecurity, the post‑quantum transition, digital sovereignty, critical infrastructure resilience, and cyber defence.

IBM is proud to partner with CyberEco and participate, bringing practical perspectives on how organizations can strengthen trust, governance, and security as AI becomes more autonomous – and as quantum risk accelerates. Across our featured sessions, we’ll explore three connected themes: secure‑by‑design hybrid approaches to sovereign AI that prioritize control, auditability, and accountability; identity and trust in an agentic AI era where non‑human actors can access resources and influence critical systems; and a structured path to quantum‑safe transformation to help teams identify cryptographic exposure, prioritize remediation, and prepare for post‑quantum migration.

In a world where AI agents can act, decide, and interact with sensitive systems, digital sovereignty is no longer just about where data resides. It becomes a matter of control, identity, access, auditability, and accountability. This session explores how organizations can rethink their architecture, operating model, and governance to manage AI in a secure, measurable, and defensible way — within a hybrid environment where trust alone is no longer enough.

29 April | 1:25 PM Why are organizations initiating a quantum-safe transformation?

For decades, organizations have relied on classical cryptographic algorithms like RSA, AES, ECC, and Diffie-Hellman to secure data and communications. The emergence of cryptographically relevant quantum computers (CRQCs) threatens these algorithms, as quantum techniques such as Shor’s and Grover’s could break current encryption and signature schemes. To mitigate this risk, transitioning to quantum-safe cryptography is essential. This involves a structured process including Quantum-Safe Discovery and Remediation focused on identifying vulnerable assets, assessing business impact, and migrating to NIST-approved post-quantum algorithms like CRYSTALS-Kyber and Dilithium. In this session, we explore the technical and strategic foundations required for quantum resilience.

AI agents no longer just analyze: they act, access resources, and influence critical systems. This shift introduces major new risks related to identity, access, and runtime security.

This session takes a strategic look at how to strengthen cyber resilience in the face of agentic AI: securing non-human identities, limiting the impact of attacks such as prompt injection, and upholding key principles such as accountability, least privilege, and zero trust.
