Mobile Foundation on IBM Cloud provides rich backend capabilities for developers to build engaging and personalized mobile and web applications.

Mobile Foundation paid plans (Professional Per Device and Professional 1 Application) require the user to configure a database. The currently supported databases are DB2 on Cloud and Compose PostgreSQL.

With the general availability of IBM Cloud Databases for PostgreSQL (ICD for PostgreSQL), Mobile Foundation now supports the use of ICD PostgreSQL as a database. With this support, the users can leverage the cost-effective, scalable, and secure ICD PostgreSQL DB for storing their Mobile Foundation metadata and their application data.
