Standard parts
IBM is designating standardized parts across all IBM Power and IBM Storage offerings, as part of the Updated Operating Model for IBM Power & IBM Storage Offerings.
Storage Modeller support standard parts for the currently available models of the following product families:
▪Storage Virtualize (Systems and SVC)
▪DS8000
▪Storage Scale Systems
In general, a configuration consisting of only standard parts is ready to be shipped within 10 (Scale Systems, Systems, SVC) or 15 (DS8000) business days. If non-standard parts are part of
the configuration, the shipment may take longer. For Scale Systems and DS8000 the shipment may be delayed for up to 16 weeks, Storage Virtualize products will be delayed to the next
quarter.
Standard parts are marked with a star in tables and in select boxes. Helper texts and tool tips give further information. Also, a banner on top of the page informs the user about the
standard part nature of the configuration, which are all shown in
Figure 73

In the Parts List report, StorM lists for each part if it's a standard part and adds notes about the expected shipment to the bottom of the list, as shown in
Figure 74

The checkbox 'Only allow standard parts' filters all select boxes to show only standard parts, unless a user already selected a non-standard part in that box. It will not directly alter
the configuration.
