Abstract
IBM Storage Defender is a package of capabilities for data resiliency, and it is part of the IBM Storage portfolio.
This document provides information about:
- IBM Storage Defender cloud based services and on-premises software delivered components, and
- Download and installation instructions of the IBM data protection capabilities that are part of IBM Storage Defender.
Content
IBM® Storage Defender® meets end-to-end data resiliency across primary and secondary workloads. It brings together the capabilities that enterprises need to go beyond data protection to real cyber resilience.
IBM® Storage Defender Data Resiliency Service is a platform that gives you a single point of control and administration for data resiliency applications included within IBM Storage Defender. IBM Storage Defender Data Resiliency Service is a combination of cloud based, Software as a Service (SaaS) managed by IBM and an agent that manages communications from the data center.
IBM Storage Defender Data Management Service (DMS) is an optional component within IBM Storage Defender. DMS is a cloud-based, Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that allows the central management of your secondary data protection environments by using the Data Protect on-premises cluster software.
To use IBM Storage Defender Data Resiliency Service and the IBM Storage Defender Data Management Service, the Data Protect clusters must be running at a supported version, see IBM Storage Defender: Data Protect support information.
IBM Storage Defender Data Protect is a high-performance, secure backup and recovery solution that is designed to safeguard your data against sophisticated cyber threats. It offers the most comprehensive policy-based protection for your cloud-native, SaaS, and traditional data sources.
