Abstract
This document lists information about the IBM Storage Defender Data Protect supported levels.
Content
IBM Storage Defender Data Protect includes third party software, and therefore, it follows the vendor lifecycle. The IBM Storage Defender Data Protect older versions will be periodically moved out of active support.
Note: The best practice is to use the long term support level of Data Protect, which is Data Protect 7.1.2_u2. The feature levels Data Protect 7.2.0 and 7.2.1 come with new features and enhancements available for on-premises hardware, Cloud Edition, and Virtual Edition clusters. All Data Protect levels, the LTS and feature levels, are fully supported.
The following table lists the supported IBM Storage Defender Data Protect levels.
Data Protect level | Release type (LTS1, Feature2) |

*7.1.2 LTS support requires that customers who are using versions prior to 7.1.2_u2 must upgrade to 7.1.2_u2 or later before Jan 31, 2025.
