IBM Storage Defender 2.0.3 is available with the Data Protect 7.1.2 level. Starting with the Data Protect 7.1.2 level, the base operating system platform is migrating from CentOS 7.9 to RHEL 7.9.
The migration of base operating system platform is done because the base CentOS is reaching End of Life (EOL) on June 30, 2024. The CentOS 7.9 and RHEL 7.9 are binary compatible which makes Data Protect 7.1.2 a low-risk release that enables our customers to transition from CentOS to RHEL. The Data Protect 7.1.2 upgrade to RHEL 7.9 is designed to improve customer’s security posture and alleviate concerns around the CentOS EOL. The upgrade is simple and straightforward which gives an experience that is no different than any other upgrade offered in the past.
All existing IBM Storage Defender customers with Data Protect clusters in 7.x levels have now access to this critical upgrade. To download Data Protect 7.1.2, see Download Information: IBM Storage Defender 2.x.
